1. High Density Fibreboard (HDF)

HDF (High Density Fibreboards) is a wood-based fibre board, pressed under high pressure. The reverse side of the board has a raw HDF decor. Products made from high-density fibreboard can be viewed HERE. Most of the products in our range that are intended for wall mounting are made from this material. Our boards are produced by grinding wood and then pressing it into boards under high pressure.

Composition and appearance of HDF board:

  • Top layer: HDF boards are covered with a lacquered finish. This layer can be made of various types of lacquer depending on the design and specific decor. The lacquer provides protection against damage, moisture, and improves the appearance of the board.
  • The board itself: The main raw material in the production of our HDF boards is wood fibers. These fibers are often obtained from wood such as pine, spruce, beech, or other hardwoods or softwoods. The wood fibers are ground into fine particles and dust. They are then bonded together under high pressure using adhesive.
  • Back side: On the reverse side, the HDF board does not have any surface finish and thus has a natural board decor.

The advantage of our decors is that they can be beautifully matched to the decor of your furniture.

There are two types of HDF available:

  • Single-sided laminate in various decors (see decors below). Material thickness: 3mm.
  • Special double-sided lacquered 3mm thick white HDF. The material thickness is 3.3 mm. We mainly use this HDF board in cases where the appearance of the reverse side of the material is also important for aesthetic reasons, e.g., a white wedding spike.

Material advantages: Material stability, a large selection of decors, the material does not work as intensively as wood.
Disadvantages: Cannot be used outdoors where there is a risk of water splashing or rain. The material is susceptible to water.

All decors found on the HDF board are semi-matte.

2. High Density Fibreboard 10 mm

The board is 10mm thick, sturdy, and lacquered on both sides with a thick layer of white lacquer. The color is resistant to scratching. The material is suitable for engraving. Products made from this material can be viewed HERE. We primarily use this type of material for engraved pictures. Thanks to the 10 mm thickness, the material is very sturdy and resistant to breaking.

Features:

  • Doubly lacquered with white lacquer
  • Material thickness: 10mm
  • Color: white

Material advantages: Greater strength, more solid appearance.

3. Plywood

Plywood is a sturdy construction material made from multiple layers of wood veneer. Its quality is determined by the number of layers, the adhesive used for bonding, and the quality of the veneer. More info about plywood can be found HERE. Products made from plywood can be viewed HERE.

Available types of plywood:

  • Beech (3.5 mm thickness) - High material strength. Ideal for wooden keychains or Easter eggs, etc.
  • Beech (10 mm thickness) - Primarily for engraved pictures in square shapes. The advantage is high strength, natural wood color, quality, and distinct engraving.
  • Poplar - Smooth uniform wood surface, lower wood density, average strength (3 mm thickness) - for a beautiful poplar color, it is great for Christmas decorations for the tree.

Material advantages: High strength, wooden surface, high resistance to breakage, water resistance.

4. Aviation Birch Plywood

We have special aviation plywood available and can use this unconventional material if needed. Aviation birch plywood is similar to standard plywood except that the veneers are much thinner and the resulting plywood has a smaller thickness, yet retains high strength. Plywood is a sturdy construction material made from multiple layers of wood veneer. Its quality is determined by the number of layers, the adhesive used for bonding, and the quality of the veneer. More info about plywood can be found HERE. Birch wood is a high-density wood and is characterized by great strength. Thanks to the birch wood, the plywood is sturdy.

  • Thickness of the plywood: 1.2mm
  • Usage: models, templates
  • Material advantages: High strength while maintaining a low thickness of the material, wooden surface.

5. Cork

For the production of our products, we use high-quality cork rolls made in Portugal. The roll is produced by gluing cork granules with polyurethane adhesive. The granularity of the cork is very fine, and the density of the cork roll is high. Cork is also flexible to bend and does not crumble.

Cork is excellently suited for various items such as bulletin boards, coasters, world maps, etc. Products that are made from cork or contain cork can be found HERE.

  • Material thickness: 4 mm
  • Usage: bulletin boards, coasters, world maps
  • Material advantages: flexibility, the ability to pin items such as push pins into the material
